The Abington Choral Club (ACC) is a dynamic, diverse mixed-voice community chorus, which provides a unique musical experience for singers and listeners alike. Now more than 80 members strong, its purpose is to broaden the musical horizons of its audience, to offer challenges to the singers, and to provide fellowship for both.

ACC Members Founded 60 years ago, ACC embraces singers of all ages, varied backgrounds, occupations, and personal interests, who share a common bond – the love of music and the desire to share it with the community. Members live in Abington as well as communities throughout Bucks and Montgomery counties and the city of Philadelphia.

Two annual free concerts (donations welcome) are performed in the Spring and Winter seasons, and are held at Abington High School auditorium, a tradition that has continued since the ACC's inception in 1947. In addition, ACC is committed to community outreach, bringing their repertoire to local retirement communities, schools, and hospitals, as well as performing at events throughout the Delaware Valley.

ACC has always sought to achieve musical excellence throughout its history, planning programs that would appeal to a broad spectrum of audience interests, and sharing its spontaneity and spirit with its listeners. Peter A. Hilliard , an experienced musical theatre director and an award-winning composer, is the Music Director. Roburt Gajdos, an accomplished pianist, joined ACC as the accompanist in 1997.

Weekly rehearsals are conducted each Wednesday starting at 7:30 p.m. (note new time), with the exception of the summer months. Auditions are held during the first three consecutive rehearsals of each concert season.

The success of making music during this season can be attributed to all those people who are part of the present chorus, former singers, accompanists, musicians, and music directors – and the people who have given their time to work behind the scenes on production and as ushers. More importantly, the success of ACC begins with our audience and financial supporters, whose loyalty and commitment make our concerts possible.

Hear Our Voices
On joining us as our new director, Peter Hilliard volunteered to put three recipes from the ACC cookbook to music. We performed the three recipe songs in our Spring 2009 concert to popular acclaim, and the recordings are available here for your enjoyment.
